Short-term Rehabilitation

Short-term rehabilitative care at The Terrace provides physical, occupational and speech therapies to help clients recover and return to the highest level of functioning following injury, illness or surgery.

 

Our therapy team specializes in:

  • Hip and knee replacement
  • Stroke recovery
  • Orthopedic injuries
  • Post cardiac protocols
  • Prosthetic/orthotic training
  • Strength building/fall reduction
  • Speech and swallow retraining

In addition, we help clients transition from hospital to home by preparing them to manage their individual needs, providing patient and family education, and coordinating with their preferred home health agency for follow-up, in-home services and equipment.

Intermediate and Skilled Nursing Care

Terrace nurses, nurse aids, activity professionals, social workers, therapists and dietitians offer 24-hour-a-day intermediate and skilled nursing care with compassion and expertise. Our hands-on, highly customized approach addresses emotional and physical needs. Our gentle assistance with activities of daily living, overall care and wellness helps residents maintain independence and preserve dignity.

Dementia Care

Dementia Care Programming at The Terrace is based on a psychosocial model of care and features:

  • Success-focused, therapeutic activities geared for each resident’s cognitive level, interests, and ability
  • Team members who are specifically trained to work with people who have cognitive impairment
  • Enhanced programming for residents including NEW life skill and reminiscence stations
  • Early, mid, and later-stage dementia care

 

Calling on the Past . . . to Engage in the Present

The Terrace’s interactive life skill stations – including workshop, nursery, life-like pets, and ladies’ dressing room – help spark memories and create simple moments of joy while creating a comfortable, visual reminder of residents’ familiar past life events.

Respite Care

Respite stays at The Terrace provide short-term assistance with daily care needs, activities and companionship and offer a welcome break for family caregivers. A respite stay is also a great way to see if the The Terrace is the right fit for you or your loved one.

Palliative and Hospice Care

We work as a team with hospice staff and volunteers to anticipate and meet the needs of patients and families who are facing terminal illness and bereavement.
